Cronulla Sharks vs New Zealand Warriors prediction

The Cronulla Sharks host the high-flying New Zealand Warriors in a clash of premiership hopefuls.

The Cronulla Sharks (5th) had a much needed bye in Round 13 after their last start 42-16 loss to the Sydney Roosters in Round 12. It was comfortably their worst performance of the season following their best (defeating the Storm 31-26 in R11).

Meanwhile, the Warriors (3rd) secured a 36-30 victory over the South Sydney Rabbitohs in a see-sawing Round 13 encounter, their fourth win in their past five encounters.

Nicho Hynes has been a creative spark for the Sharks, providing 13 try assists and 16 line break assists in 12 games this season.

In their last meeting (R26, 2024), the Warriors edged the Sharks 30-28 at PointsBet Stadium. Overall, the Sharks lead the head-to-head 29-21.

The Sharks will be determined to put their Round 12 performance behind them and will benefit from a return home for just the fourth time this season. The Warriors have shown the ability to win multiple ways, low scoring grinding affairs or high scoring shootouts and this game could come down to the Sharks ability to muscle up in the middle against a confident Warriors outfit.
