Cristina Bucsa vs Iva Jovic prediction

Cristina Bucsa continued her recent resurgence as she easily got past Sara Bejlek to reach the semi-finals of the Guadalajara Open. The Spaniard had beaten Bejlek in round one of the US Open last month, and she enjoyed an even more comfortable victory here, winning 6-0 6-4. The 28-year-old endured a dismal run after winning her first tour-level title at the Merida Open back in March, but she has now won four of her last five matches. Bucsa advanced to the third-round at Flushing Meadows, losing to world number four Coco Gauff.

She now plays Iva Jovic. The teenager extended her winning run at the tournament to seven matches after a crushing win over Magdalena Frech. This was an encounter between the event’s two recent champions, but Jovic was always in control as she won 6-2 6-1. The world number 16 was not broken on serve but did need to save eight break points overall.

Bucsa’s movement and consistency should ensure Jovic is tested, particularly given how confidently the Spaniard has played this week. However, Jovic has repeatedly demonstrated how comfortable she is in Guadalajara’s high-altitude conditions.

Cristina Bucsa vs Iva Jovic tip: Iva Jovic to win 2-0
