Cristina Bucsa vs Coco Gauff prediction

Cristina Bucsa came through a gruelling match in the second-round as she edged past Himeno Sakatsume. All three sets required tiebreaks and the pair exchanged six breaks of serve apiece, with Bucsa eventually holding her nerve in the deciding match tiebreak to win 7-6 (6) 6-7 (0) 7-6 (6) after three hours on court. Bucsa had already caused an upset in round one after beating Sara Bejlek.

She will face world number four Coco Gauff after she beat Paula Badosa in straight sets. Badosa had won their two previous meetings and threatened to extend the match into a decider, but Gauff held her nerve in the tiebreak to win 6-4 7-6 (5). Gauff opened her tournament by beating Zeynep Sonmez and has now extended her winning streak to eight matches, following her run to the title at the Cincinnati Open in August.

Gauff won their previous meeting in straight sets at Indian Wells three years ago. This should be a comfortable outing for the two-time Grand Slam singles champion.
