Cristina Bucsa vs Alycia Parks prediction

Cristina Bucsa qualified for the tournament after straight set wins over Lia Karatancheva and Kayla Cross. She was also able to qualify for both events in Montreal and Cincinnati, but could go no further than the first-round in each. She made an impressive run to the third-round of Wimbledon last month, defeating Donna Vekic along the way, but that remains her best result of a frustrating season so far.

Alycia Parks has seven losses from her last eight matches. She did show some fight in Cincinnati, taking a set off two-time Grand Slam champion Barbora Krejcikova in the first-round, but she faded away in the decider to register yet another loss. Her season started so brightly with a run to the semi-finals of the Auckland Open but it’s been tough going for Parks since, as she’s failed to make it past the second-round of any other tournament.

Parks does lead the head-to-head 1-0 on the WTA Tour, having beaten Bucsa in the semi-finals of the Andorra Open in late 2022. However, her poor season form leads to us giving the edge to Bucsa on this occasion.
