THE PREDICTION
The first Roses match of the cricketing season is a hugely exciting one as Joe Root takes on James Anderson at Clean Slate Headingley. Most people will be focusing on that individual battle, but from a team perspective this promises to be a cracking affair. Although Yorkshire boasts home advantage, they are currently nursing a number of injuries within their pace bowling attack. Haris Rauf, Matthew Fisher and Ben Coad all missed their last match at Chelmsford and Fisher at the very least will not be available here. Lancashire meanwhile, are set to have their star quartet of Anderson, Hassan Ali, Saqib Mahmood and spin-bowler Matt Parkinson all available. This should give them the edge in a battle between two excellent batting line-ups. Therefore, back Lancashire for a victory, but only via the draw no bet market.
