OVAL INVINCIBLES WOMEN
- Oval Invincibles came out the wrong end of a low scoring thriller vs Northern Superchargers last time out, losing by just four runs as they failed to chase down 110 to win.
- The loss was their first of the tournament, leaving them on four points after three games played and currently third-placed in the table.

- Welsh Fire finally secured their first win of the competition at the third time of asking, after thrashing Manchester Originals by nine-wickets in Cardiff this past weekend.
- A superb batting performance from West Indian overseas star Hayley Matthews saw the Fire saunter to their victory target of 121, with opener Matthews smashing 71 not out from 50 balls and putting on an unbroken 101-run stand for the second wicket with Georgia Redmayne, who finished 38 not out.
- Following such a comprehensive triumph, the expectation is that Welsh Fire name the same team here in a bid to build on the momentum garnered within their team.
THE PREDICTION
This contest represents only the second match Oval Invincibles have played on their own ground, with their first seeing them emerge victorious in the inaugural match of the Hundred. Whilst the Invincibles’ batting struggled vs a very impressive Northern Superchargers outfit, they should improve with the willow on what will likely prove a largely flat pitch at the Kia Oval. Whilst Welsh Fire were in control throughout vs Manchester Originals, question marks remain over the strength of their middle order and they could struggle if the likes of Matthews are dismissed early here. When taking into account the strength-in-depth of the hosts’ batting line-up combined with their experienced bowling unit, the Oval Invincibles on their own ground are expected to get back to winning ways in this one.
