THE PREDICTION

The first ever match of the 6ixty went the way of Barbados Royals and comfortably so as they overcame Trinbago Knight Riders by 28 runs. The two sides meet again just over 24 hours later and what is clear in such a short format of cricket that all it takes is one individual to put in a big performance, especially with the bat and it can prove enough to lay the foundations for victory almost single-handedly. This was the case with the Royals as Chloe Tryon’s 63 from 29 balls parachuted them to a winning total. What looked evident in the opening game was that Trinbago looked significantly weaker than their opponents from a batting perspective and the Royals being able to call upon the likes of an in-form Tryon, plus captain Hayley Matthews gives them a big point of difference. Trinbago did not name Deandra Dottin in their side yesterday due to an injury while fielding in the Women’s hundred and as it stands her status for this one is uncertain. Should Dottin be ruled out again here, then Barbados Royals should be backed to complete a pair of wins over the Knight Riders.
