THE LOWDOWN

Surrey’s bowling attack came to the fore in their Vitality Blast semi-final as they restricted Gloucestershire to just 73/7 in a reduced game of 11 overs aside, before knocking the runs off with six wickets remaining. Notts Outlaws also comfortably made it through their 11 over aside semi-final against North Group rivals Lancashire Lightning, chasing down 94 runs with five wickets left thanks mainly to four consecutive sixes from Outlaws captain Dan Christian in the eighth over. This leads to a clash between the North Group and South Group winners in the grand final.

THE PREDICTION

Two high quality sides face off in a reduced 16 over aside Vitality Blast grand-final due to rain earlier in the day. Both teams contain incredibly strong batting line-ups with hard hitting openers Jason Roy and Alex Hales facing off alongside international stars Hashim Amla and Dan Christian. In what is expected to be a close encounter, it could well come down to who bowls the better and Surrey’s slightly more experienced bowling attack containing the likes of World Cup winner Liam Plunkett and veteran off-spinner Gareth Batty are likely to make the difference in this contest.
