Glamorgan are pretty much in a win or bust situation right now following their defeat at the hands of Somerset and must bounce back strongly. Sussex Sharks’ hopes of qualification are already pretty much over and their batting has not been good enough over the course of the season to really trouble the top four. This should work in Glamorgan’s favour on an excellent Sophia Gardens batting surface if previous fixtures on the ground are to go by. Back a home victory here.

KENT SPITFIRES vs MIDDLESEX
THE PREDICTION
Kent Spitfires are starting to breathe down the necks of the top four and a fixture like this represents an excellent chance to claim another priceless two points against rock-bottom Middlesex. However, the visitors are coming off the back of having pulled off the most remarkable of wins last night, completing the highest run chase in T20 Blast history against London rivals Surrey, ending their torturous losing streak in the process. Whilst such a bonkers result has to be taken into account, Kent boast consistency and momentum both with bat and ball. Ultimately the hosts will expect to triumph in this encounter.

SOMERSET vs GLOUCESTERSHIRE
THE PREDICTION
Somerset destroyed their South West rivals in the reverse fixture and it’s hard to see the outcome being any different in Taunton. The Cidermen look very much like a side capable of winning the competition and are coming off the back of dealing out consecutive thrashings to Essex Eagles and Glamorgan respectively. With a top order which is the envy of their South Group opponents and plenty of depth within the bowling, any outcome other than the hosts beating Gloucestershire would be a significant surprise.

HAMPSHIRE HAWKS vs ESSEX EAGLES
THE PREDICTION
Hampshire Hawks know that victory in each of their remaining three home fixtures, starting here against Essex Eagles would guarantee their place in the quarter-finals. When the T20 Blast reaches the business end, reigning champions Hampshire always seem to find an extra gear and the same is expected of them in 2023. Essex Eagles are dangerous opposition and desperately need the points themselves for their own knockout qualification push. But they tend to struggle on big grounds like the Ageas Bowl and with a youthful batting line-up, the street-smart nature of Hampshire’s bowlers should keep them well-shackled. With that in mind, back the hosts to get the better of Simon Harmer’s side, subjecting the Eagles to a third straight defeat in the process.
