THE PREDICTION
Despite playing away from home here, Gloucestershire haven’t the punishing schedule that Glamorgan have had to go through across the past week or so. The Welsh County travelled to Durham for a County Championship fixture, before playing Essex Eagles at Chelmsford in the T20 Blast. Less than 48 hours following that one, they host Gloucestershire, who are likely to be playing on a pitch that favours a high volume of runs if previous fixtures at Sophia Gardens this season are to go by. However, Glamorgan contain a little more firepower within their batting unit through players like Colin Ingram and Chris Cooke which may prove crucial. In what should be a close encounter, backing the hosts is worth serious consideration.

MIDDLESEX vs ESSEX EAGLES
THE PREDICTION
Essex Eagles will be expected to dominate the majority of play at Lord’s with their bowling attack well suited to a ground like that, although their batting order isn’t the most experienced and runs on both sides may not be high in volume. However, Essex are a more aggressive all-round unit, especially on the batting front and could overwhelm this Middlesex bowling attack. Therefore, back the Eagles to overcome Middlesex.

SURREY vs HAMPSHIRE HAWKS
THE PREDICTION
Two strong South Ground sides in Surrey and Hampshire Hawks do battle in what should be a cracking contest. Both teams contain excellent bowling units, not to mention significant quality and brute force with the bat at the top of the order. The big difference however, looks to be the depth of batting. Whilst Surrey boast match-winners right down the order, Hampshire Hawks have proven fragile should the likes of James Vince and Ben McDermott be dismissed early on. With that in mind, Surrey may do enough to edge this one.
