A quite magnificent run chase of 204 from Derbyshire Falcons on Wednesday saw them beat Birmingham Bears by six wickets, the highest run chase ever completed by the Falcons in the Blast. Confidence will be high as they aim to get revenge over Notts Outlaws, who defeated them in the reverse fixture at Trent Bridge. The Outlaws have had the better of Derbyshire across the past couple of years, but with momentum building within the home side’s camp, this may well prove the match that Derbyshire Falcons gain revenge and overcome their East Midlands rivals.

LEICESTERSHIRE FOXES vs DURHAM
THE PREDICTION
Leicestershire Foxes’ only victory so far in the T20 Blast came against Durham, so they’ll be a belief that they can finally secure a first home win of the campaign. But Durham are a significantly underrated side who are enjoying a really strong season and come into this game in an excellent frame of mind. With a good core of experienced players such as Ben Raine, Alex Lees, Ashton Turner and Wayne Parnell, they should wind up too strong for the Foxes.

BIRMINGHAM BEARS vs NORTHAMPTONSHIRE STEELBACKS
THE PREDICTION
Birmingham Bears have lost each of their last three games, ironically all of those with Moeen Ali in the side as captain. The winning formula the Bears had established appears to have deserted them and the pressure is on them heading into this encounter. Moeen will play for the last time in the group stage before joining the England Test squad and a player of his experience won’t allow himself to dwell on Birmingham Bears’ recent poor results. Expect a positive reaction after their loss to Derbyshire and provided Chris Lynn is dismissed early on, the hosts are expected to edge out the Steelbacks.
