THE LOWDOWN
Northamptonshire Steelbacks come into this on the back of a five-wickets victory away to the Leicestershire Foxes on Tuesday. That win means they have won three of their last four after a very disappointing start to the season in which they had lost their opening four matches, five of their first six with the other game being a rained off match. They come up against a Durham side that have put on some exceptional performances recently most notably against the Lancashire Lightning and the Birmingham Bears. They will continue to be able to play Ben Stokes in a prolific top order alongside Graham Clark, David Bedingham and Cameron Bancroft.
THE PREDICTION
This is a tough one given it is a match between one side in excellent form and another side that will consider themselves one of the early favourites for the entire tournament. Given Northants’ lack of overwhelming firepower, it is fair to say that Durham will expect to out score them in this match. The Steelbacks’ three victories in that four match run began with a win at Durham in which they hammered their opponents. Northamptonshire should have the edge given the return fixture and their great form.
