Back-to-back scores of 94 not out for Glenn Phillips has seen the New Zealand overseas batsman leap to the top of the run scorers in the competition. They come up against a Somerset team that look very dangerous now that Tom Banton has hit some form. The England international scored 107 not out in just 15.4 overs as Somerset chased 169 to beat Kent by ten wickets earlier this week.
THE PREDICTION
This match will be high-scoring. The form of both batting lineups means that 200 should be on the cards for either of them if not both. Phillips versus Banton remains tantalising but it should be a classic for this rivalry. Somerset’s options with the ball in Lewis Gregory, Craig Overton and Marchant de Lange looks set to give the visitors the edge. A Somerset victory seems the likelier outcome in this one.
