Tripura’s winless start to the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy continued as they were beaten for the third game in succession. Karnataka were the latest side to get the better of them, although it was an improved display on their previous showing against Jammu & Kashmir. They fell just ten runs short of their opponents having limited Karnataka to 167/5 but they ultimately failed to score quickly enough despite having six wickets in hand at the end of their innings. They now face another side yet to get off the mark in Uttar Pradesh after they suffered their second heavy loss in succession. Jammu & Kashmir handed them an eight-wicket defeat and with runs continuing to be difficult to come by for Uttar Pradesh, their woes are set to continue here with Tripura able to earn their first victory of the tournament.
