THE PREDICTION
Railways were able to chase down a tricky total as they earned the win in their opening Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy contest with Tripura. Needing 171 to win, Railways produced a strong reply led by opener Mrunal Devdhar whose composed 61* from 50 was enough to see his side home. Harsh Tyagi was also integral to the success as he whacked 38* from just 17 balls but there is still plenty of improvement for Railways to make, especially with the ball after they managed just three wickets. They now face Uttar Pradesh who did a good job with the ball but their batsmen failed to chase down 135 as they lost by 11 runs to Punjab and with the two teams showing a vast difference in quality with the bat in their respective opening matches, it is Railways that should prove to be too good here.
