Jharkhand earned their first win of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy at the third time of asking as they produced a brilliant performance with the bat to see off Assam. Virat Singh whacked a stunning 103* from just 53 deliveries to help his side to a mammoth score of 233/3 and despite Assam putting up a solid fight, Jharkhand were comfortable 51-run winners. They will hope to build on that as they take on winless Odisha and they will be confident of doing so after their opponents were defeated by eight wickets last time out.
