THE PREDICTION
Hyderabad fell agonisingly short in their attempt to chase down Assam in their opening match of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy as they lost out by just two runs. Chasing 160 for the win, Hyderabad were punished for failing to have any of their batsmen kick on having managed to play themselves in with none of their batting line-up managing to score into the 30s. Despite the loss, they will be confident of responding as they take on an Odisha side who were on the end of a hammering against Bengal in their first game. They were bowled out for just 113 and only managed to take one wicket in response in the nine-wicket loss and with huge improvements needed on the back of that poor effort, they are likely to fall short again with Hyderabad able to get off the mark here.
