THE PREDICTION
Gujarat were victors in their opening Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy clash as a solid all-round effort saw them overcome Maharashtra. Despite none of their batsmen really kicking on to make a big score, they were still able to put a score of 157/8 together but it was Arzan Nagwaswalla’s sensational effort with the ball that proved to be the difference between the two teams. He ended with 6-19 as he ripped through the Maharashtra batting line-up and he will look to carry on where he left off as his side now take on Uttarakhand. In a close affair, Uttarakhand were edged by five runs as they just fell short despite Dikshanshu Negi’s unbeaten 77 pushing his side close. It was a solid showing by Uttarakhand and they are capable of responding here but with Gujarat performing so impressively in their opening clash, they have to be fancied once again.
