Despite accruing a score of 208/7 against Madhya Pradesh, it wasn’t enough for Goa as they fell to a narrow six run defeat in their first match of the competition. They can take heart from a spirited run chase however, in the knowledge that a similar batting display here against Services will give them a great chance of bouncing back in this match. The visitors also lost out in their opening game against Saurashtra, despite an excellent knock of 76 not out from Rahul Singh in their first innings. A close game is expected, however Goa’s bowling in this format looks a concern following the opening match and that could prove the difference here, with Services containing the batting firepower to take advantage of such a weakness and ultimately emerge victorious.
