Meghalaya simply must add to their one victory so far in this season’s Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy here against winless Arunachal Pradesh if they wish to have any slim hopes of qualification to the knockout stage going into their last group match. The inconsistency of Meghalaya has proven their biggest kryptonite in this competition so far. After racking up 230 runs in their second Plate Group fixture vs Mizoram, they could only back this up with a pitiful 89/9 against Bihar. Arunachal Pradesh provide opposition more the standard of Mizoram than Bihar and that should enable a much-improved showing with the bat here from Meghalaya and ultimately a vital win.
