THE PREDICTION

Arunachal Pradesh have made a poor start to the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy having suffered defeats in their opening two matches. They will have been content with their efforts with the bat after posting 145/7 but it proved to be well short of a defendable total as they were beaten by nine wickets against Nagaland. They struggled with the ball and will need to be much better in that department as they take on a Manipur side who they can get at after a woeful batting display last time out. They managed just 68 runs for the loss of eight wickets in their pursuit of 179 against Chandigarh, although things could have been worse for them after they had collapsed to 26/7. They will need to provide a huge response to that poor performance but Arunachal Pradesh can capitalise on Manipur's frail batting order to come away with a maiden win here.
