SOUTH AFRICA

• A nail-biting four wicket win for South Africa against Sri Lanka this past Saturday was their second successive victory in the Super 12s and keeps well in the hunt to reach the semi-finals.
• Quinton de Kock was restored to the team against Sri Lanka with Reeza Hendricks keeping his opening spot and captain Temba Bavuma moving to number four where he made 46, a knock which should lead to him remaining in that position against Bangladesh in what should be an unchanged Proteas side.

BANGLADESH

• Bangladesh suffered their third straight loss in the Super 12 stage last time out, going down to West Indies by three runs.
• Experienced all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan will not be available for this game and the rest of the T20 World Cup after suffering a hamstring injury, a massive blow for the Tigers going forward.

THE PREDICTION

South Africa will be riding the crest of a wave after their victory against Sri Lanka and they face a side who in contrast have struggled ever since securing qualification to the Super 12s stage of the competition. A well-balanced Proteas bowling attack stands them in good stead here with a lethal mix of pace and spin, alongside a deep batting order. Bangladesh however, are heavily weakened due to not having Shakib available and it’s difficult to see them providing much of a challenge here. As long as South Africa leave any complacency behind in the dressing room, they should secure a comfortable win in Abu Dhabi.
