SOUTH AFRICA
- South Africa were sitting pretty in game three of this four-game T20 series against Pakistan after posting an impressive 203/5 when batting first but their bowling attack was dispatched to all corners of SuperSport Park as the tourists won comfortably by nine wickets and two full overs to spare.
- Despite the absence of star men Quinton de Kock and skipper Temba Bavuma, the batting has looked strong throughout this series with the returning Rassie van der Dussen looking good so they will be confident in that department coming into this final match.
- The bowling attack struggled badly however with Hendricks, Magala and Shamsi all going for over 12.66 per over so it would be no surprise if they decided to bring in Lutho Sipamla or Bjorn Fortuin to change things around.
PAKISTAN
- After their dismal display in the second T20 where they were woeful with the bat, Pakistan responded emphatically to go 2-1 up in the series as Babar Azam smashed 122 from 59 balls and Mohammad Rizwan 73 from 47 to put on a sensational partnership of 197 to make the target of over 200 with relative ease.
- The way they dismantled the home side’s bowling attack could well have landed a decisive blow in this series and Babar and Rizwan were in outstanding form as they now look to seal the series.
- All of the bowlers in the match struggled with economy rates with over 400 runs scored in the game so it is unlikely anybody will drop out for that reason but the only possible change would be rotating Mohammad Hasnain back in for Haris Rauf.
THE PREDICTION
Pakistan take a 2-1 lead into this fourth and final T20 match and after the manner of their win in the third game, they will fully expect to pick up another triumph and seal the series win here. Their top order has been key to their success in both the ODIs and T20s and they are in exceptional form right now. Against a South African bowling attack that is essentially second string, that is the major mismatch in the series right now. They slipped up in game two but they are clearly fired up and focused after that game. With the hosts being under-strength and with little more to give, expect the tourists to wrap this up with another win for Babar Azam’s men
