- Pakistan cricket is an enigma, one moment down and out, the next moment on top and that was the case in the 4th T20i against England, which saw them bowl England out dramatically after looking like succumbing to defeat.
- Bowler Haris Rauf showed his class at the death, taking three of the final four wickets before last man Reece Topley was run out to secure victory, levelling what has been an enthralling series so far.
ENGLAND
- England strength-in-depth batting wise was evident even in defeat as the middle order made up for the top order’s failings, whilst Liam Dawson batting at number eight so nearly took the tourists home with 34 from 17 balls.
- Olly Stone was given an opportunity with the balls, but went wicketless at an average at nine runs an over and it remains to be seen as to whether he will be selected again in Lahore, whilst the economical Adil Rashid is still so key to England’s bowling attack.
THE PREDICTION
It’s been difficult to predict which way each of these matches will go, with both nations having impressed over the course of the four T20i fixtures played so far. As the series moves to Lahore, the expectation is that once again the pitch will prove an excellent one from a batting perspective. Therefore, England will be confident that they can outscore Pakistan provided the home top order are dismissed relatively cheaply. Although Pakistan are an extremely unpredictable side, England are yet to go behind in this series and should be backed to retake the lead in match number five.
