THE PREDICTION
After dominating the ODIs and ultimately sweeping New Zealand, India will be looking to do exactly the same in the T20i series, starting here in Ranchi. Following Shubman Gill’s glut of runs across the ODI series, it would be no surprise to see him opening the batting as he looks to pick up where he left off, whilst the world class abilities of Suryakumar Yadav and captain Hardik Pandya should help India pile on the runs here against a weak New Zealand bowling. This is a real trial by fire for Black Caps skipper Mitchell Santner, who will have to learn on the job very quickly. India realistically should triumph in this first T20i fairly comfortably.
