BANGLADESH
- Bangladesh continued their incredible start to this five-game T20i series, proving their victory in the first match over Australia was not a one off by beating them again, this time by five wickets in the following contest after successfully chasing down 122 to win.
- On another favourable pitch for bowling, Bangladesh made good use of the conditions to take seven wickets and restrict Australia to a low score with Musafizur Rahman picking up three scalps.
- Having taken a 2-0 lead in the series with the same team, it would be a surprise if Bangladesh were to make any changes to their side as they look to secure what would be a memorable series victory at the first time of asking.
AUSTRALIA
- It was the case of “same old story” for Australia in the second T20i, only this time they were batting first. Once again all-rounder Mitchell Marsh was the one player to provide any sort of resistance, whilst the remaining batters flattered to deceive.
- Whilst Marsh top-scored with 45, only Moises Henriques managed to also accrue a significant score, hitting 30 as the rest of the Aussie batting order wilted miserably.
- Both all-rounder Dan Christian and wicketkeeper batter Ben McDermott were not given a chance in the second T20i, but after two defeats in a row, the tourists simply must look at making changes if they are to save this series.
THE PREDICTION
Bangladesh have played the bowler friendly conditions far better than Australia so far and the results have been evident. When considering how poorly the tourists have performed, it’s difficult to see them making a comeback on what is likely to be another difficult pitch for batting. Against a side missing so many players and a squad at rock bottom from a confidence perspective, it’s hard not to see the home team taking a 3-0 lead and securing a series victory here, unless the weather comes to Australia’s rescue.
