AUSTRALIA
- Australia looked to be controlling the first T20 match on Friday for long spells of that game until Yuzvendra Chahal took a trio of wickets to hand the tourists a vital opening win and keep their unbeaten run going in this format in 2020.
- The hosts are not helped by yet another injury as Aaron Finch is the latest player to be struggling with an ailment and is a major doubt here so Matthew Wade should step up to open and Alex Carey will likely return to the middle order.
- That will mean Matthew Wade will likely take over as captain if Finch does not make it while Nathan Lyon has been called up due to Ashton Agar’s injury and following Mitch Swepson’s poor display in the first T20 and he could well come in to start.

- India produced a stirring fightback in the opening T20 match as they rallied thanks to Ravindra Jadeja’s fine knock with the bat and then they bowled incredibly well to defend their par total of 161/7 by 11 runs.
- After his stunning knock of 44 from 23 balls, Jadeja was forced out of the game with concussion and he will miss this second T20 as Yuzvendra Chahal will likely come in to replace him as he did in the game before his matchwinning bowling performance.
- Despite the win, Virat Kohli will be contemplate some rotations with Shreyas Iyer potentially coming in for Manish Pandey, while Jasprit Bumrah is expected to return to the side and he could rotate in for Mohammed Shami who may be rested here.
THE PREDICTION
India have the upper hand coming into this game after winning the first T20 and they will be keen to get the win and seal the series in Sydney. The hosts have several injury concerns that is weakening their selection and with Aaron Finch the latest to suffer an injury, that leaves another notable hole in their line-up if he does indeed miss out. D’Arcy Short struggled in the first T20 and looked a little out of touch and a further change to the opening partnership will only weaken the Aussies further. India have also lost Jadeja but they have the luxury of bringing Bumrah back if they wish to do so, and there is every chance Kohli’s men will go as strong as possible here to try kill the series off. The first game could have gone either way but had India taken their catches, the win could easily have been more comprehensive. The hosts are significantly weakened that India are favoured to seal the series win here.
