  • Zimbabwe once again pulled off a fantastic run chase to seal this ODI series, reaching their target of 291 in the 48th over with five wickets remaining, this despite being reduced to 49/4 at one stage.
  • For the second match running, two batters for Zimbabwe went on to score centuries, one of them once again being Sikandar Raza who was unbeaten on 117, whilst captain Regis Chakabva scored 102.

BANGLADESH

  • Bangladesh were beaten in the T20i series in Zimbabwe and to compound that, have now lost the ODI series as well with one game still to play after another subpar performance with the ball.
  • The lack of killer instinct within the Tigers, not taking advantage when they are on top of their opponents has proven their downfall across this contest and needs to be addressed in all formats if they are to progress as a unit.

THE PREDICTION

You’d suspect that the last thing Bangladesh want right now is to contest this match, which is essentially a dead rubber due to Zimbabwe already having an unassailable series lead. With the Asia Cup beginning later in the month, the tourists likely have one eye already focused on that, which may not bode well for their prospect here in Harare. For Zimbabwe, the opposite is true. Their players are in excellent form, they are clicking well as a unit and have established themselves as a very tough prospect at home. Back them to seal a series sweep.
