THE TEAM NEWS

PAKISTAN

  • Pakistan wrapped up victory in the three-match ODI series in emphatic fashion this past Friday following an excellent bowling performance and will be looking to complete the sweep here.
  • The bowling unit of the hosts successfully bowled West Indies out for just 155 with the likes of Mohammad Wasim and Mohammad Nawaz impressing in particular and it would be a surprise if they were to alter the side on that front.
  • Abdullah Shafique could be afforded a chance with the bat should Pakistan wish to rotate, but with a settled order, the hosts may not wish to make a change.

WEST INDIES

  • Whilst West Indies put in a good performance with the bat in the first ODI despite losing, this time round they were comprehensively outplayed as the Pakistan bowlers ran through them and to be bowled out in just 32.2 overs represents a very poor return.
  • Following such a showing, the temptation will be there for West Indies to tinker with their batting, affording the likes of Keacy Carty an opportunity against high class opposition with the series now lost.
  • Although he did not feature in the second ODI following his late call-up, Keemo Paul could also be given an opportunity to play by the Windies.

THE PREDICTION

Pakistan continue to show their quality at home, with their top order batting firing nicely and the bowlers all contributing when required. Ultimately the hosts contain a number of truly world class players such as Babar Azam and Shaheen Shah Afridi, who bring the sort of skills that cannot be replicated within this West Indies side and has helped give Pakistan a clear edge across this series. That isn’t expected to change in the final ODI and the expectation is that Pakistan will wrap things up with a 3-0 sweep.
