England kept their hopes to clinching the Ashes alive as they claimed the T20 series thanks to a second win in succession over Australia. The hosts were superb as they landed the third and final T20 contest, running out five-wicket victors via the D/L method. They will now aim to build on their efforts in the 20-over format but face a daunting prospect against the Australians with the tourists dominating them in ODIs. Australia have won all six of their past meetings since last year and while they will need to improve on their efforts from their recent outings in the T20 clashes, they can get back to winning ways in this opening ODI which would also see the Aussies retain the Ashes.
