INDIA
- India were brought back down to earth in the second one-day match as England’s batsmen smashed their bowling unit to all parts of the ground in Pune but they will take heart from the fact they have scored well over 300 in both games batting first so far.
- They will consider making changes to the bowling attack after the spinners especially were taken to the cleaners so Yuzvendra Chahal could come into the line-up along with Thangarasu Natarajan.
- The opening batsmen may also be given more license to score at a quicker rate as if they bat first they will be aiming for something closer to 350 runs here if they are to ward off this powerful England batting line-up although Virat Kohli will be hoping to chase if he can somehow win the toss.

- England produced an inspiring performance in the second one-day international as they chased down 337 with 6.3 overs left and six wickets to spare so they will be full of confidence despite missing skipper Eoin Morgan.
- The likelihood is that they go with an unchanged line-up although the only likely changes will be in the bowling attack after they conceded 336 and struggled to contain the Indian batsmen especially at the death.
- Mark Wood missed the second game and could come back into the fold for this match in what is likely to be the only change if any to the starting eleven and Tom Curran is expected to be the man to make way.
THE PREDICTION
Similar to the T20 series, this match comes down to the deciding game and this time it is England that come into the game with momentum after a sensational run chase last time out. Neither team will be happy with the way they have been bowling in this series but England will be strengthened by the return of Mark Wood. After the way India’s bowlers were smashed to all parts, they could be tempted to go change things around with their bowling attack to give England something different to deal with and that could be the differentiator. The batting is on a par but India’s bowling and the changes they are likely to make could swing it their way when it matters. The marginal preference goes to India here but it really is a game that could go either way.
