THE PREDICTION
Both these sides are on the back of thumping victories over Kent and Gloucestershire respectively, although Lancashire were almost denied their innings victory by a Gloucestershire rear-guard that lasted deep into Day 4. This should be a far closer affair with two quality bowling line-ups going head-to-head. When taking into account the quality of bowling, a result is expected here and it’s difficult to look beyond the potency of Hassan Ali for Lancashire, alongside leg-spin-bowler Matt Parkinson with possibly Saqib Mahmood and/or James Anderson as well, depending on whether the ECB allow them to play a second consecutive fixture.
