THE PREDICTION
Both these sides suffered defeat in their opening CPL fixture of the tournament. Reigning champions Trinbago Knight Riders were narrowly defeated by nine runs at the hands of Guyana Amazon Warriors after a poor batting performance saw them fail to chase down 143 to win. Whilst Barbados Royals were beaten far more comprehensively by St Kitts and Nevis Patriots, losing by 21 runs after a poor bowling display in the second half of the Patriots’ innings saw them concede a score of 175/5, which they couldn’t chase down.
Trinbago are expected to improve significantly with the bat in this one, particularly against a weaker Barbados bowling unit and with the likes of Jayden Seales and Sunil Narine within their ranks, the Knight Riders should in contrast be able to restrict Jason Holder’s side to a fairly modest score, ultimately leading to a Trinbago Knight Riders victory in this one.
