THE PREDICTION

Reigning Caribbean Premier League champions Trinbago Knight Riders kick off this year’s tournament against Guyana Amazon Warriors with Kieron Pollard’s side gunning for a fifth CPL trophy this year. Pollard, fellow all-rounder Sunil Narine, fast bowler Jayden Seales and batter Colin Munroe help form the spine of the a very strong Trinbago unit. Guyana are captained by the big-hitting Nicholas Pooran, with the likes of Shimron Hetmyer and Mohammad Hafeez helping to provide plenty of batting firepower, whilst veteran spin-bowler Imran Tahir and fast bowler Naveen-ul-Haq will both play key roles with the ball.

However, the depth of the Guyana bowling attack is questionable and this doesn’t bode well against the likes of Pollard and Munroe, who could take the game away from them very quickly with the bat. With plenty of experience, star-quality and all bases covered, Trinbago Knight Riders look a force to be reckoned with once again and should kick the new CPL campaign off with victory here.
