THE LOWDOWN
This London derby is amongst the highlights of the opening round of matches in the Bob Willis trophy as Surrey and Middlesex face off at the Kia Oval. Surrey however, will be without a number of their England players such as captain Rory Burns, Ollie Pope and Sam Curran. Middlesex are coming off the back of a drawn warm up game against Northamptonshire, where opening batsman Max Holden top scored with a stylish 59 not out.
THE PREDICTION
Even with a depleted first team, Surrey have plenty of talent in their reserves. One of two counties not to place their players on furloughed leave during the lockdown period, they should be in a sharper physical condition than their rivals and with the likes of Rikki Clarke, Mark Stoneman and Will Jacks within their ranks, Surrey should come out on top here against a Middlesex side without Dawid Malan after the top order batsman signed for Yorkshire in the offseason.
