THE TEAM NEWS

BRISBANE HEAT

  • Brisbane Heat got off the mark at the third time of asking in the Big Bash League thanks to a good win over Melbourne Renegades last time out but this will be a tough task to back that up against Sydney Thunder.
  • In their opening game of the tournament, the Heat were defeated by the Thunder but they will be out for revenge after overcoming the Renegades with Sam Heazlett continuing to lead the way with the bat, scoring a match-winning 44* in that contest.

SYDNEY THUNDER

  • Sydney Thunder made it back-to-back losses as they went down to Melbourne Stars in their most recent encounter, leaving them with just one win to their name from their three BBL matches so far.
  • Alex Ross has enjoyed a strong start to the tournament but his 77* was not enough as his side could not defend 151 and they will need to improve with the ball if they are to get back to winning ways.

THE PREDICTION

Brisbane Heat and Sydney Thunder have both struggled with the ball so far having each won just one of their three matches in the Big Bash League so far. The Thunder’s win came against the Heat in their opening game but they have been able to build on that and will be desperate to do so here. It is with the bat where this game will be won but with the Thunder looking stronger in this department, especially owing to the form of Alex Ross, the Sydney outfit are favoured to take the win in this one.
