THE PREDICTION
Pune Devils got off to a winning start on Thursday as after reducing Deccan Gladiators to just 104/5 thanks to skipper Nasir Hossain’s 3/18 from his two overs, they eased to a seven-wicket win as Kennar Lewis’ unbeaten half century guided them home. They now face the Qalandars who sat out the opening day and make their debut in this season’s tournament here. They possess plenty of quality in their ranks with Shahid Afridi, Tom Banton, Ben Dunk and Asif Ali forming a fearsome batting line-up. Much will depend on whether they can hit the ground running and the Devils will have the advantage by having a game under their belts. Their heavy Pakistani and English influenced-side looks strong all round however and they are favoured to win their opening game here.
