THE PREDICTION
Kent have endured a poor season so far, having lost three and drawn two of their five County Championship matches and currently lie bottom of Group 3, a real surprise considering that they were one of the dark horses to finish in the top two and qualify for Division One. However, England international Zak Crawley can take heart from his score of 90 in their rain ravaged draw with Yorkshire. They travel to Sussex, who sit directly above them in fifth-place having won just once so far this season. Since that eight-wicket victory over Glamorgan, the hosts have lost their last three first-class games and were on the end of a battering at the hands of Northamptonshire most recently, losing by an innings and 120 runs.
The weather is set to play a huge part in this one, with a large number of overs expected to be lost over the four days and any outcome other than a draw would be a surprise. If in the unlikely event that enough play can be found to determine a winner then with England fast bowling star Jofra Archer set to line up for Sussex, his contribution may prove the difference between the two sides providing Crawley is dismissed early on.
