THE PREDICTION
Leicestershire upset the odds last week by chasing down a mammoth fourth innings target of 378 to beat Middlesex and secure their first red ball victory of the season. The heroes for the running Foxes were Australian batter Marcus Harris and captain Colin Ackermann who hit 185 and 126 not out respectively. The win took them above Middlesex and off the bottom of Group 2 and whilst qualification to Division is still very unlikely Leicestershire have a platform to build upon.
Gloucestershire meanwhile, suffered a first County Championship defeat of the season last time out after they were thrashed by an innings and 47 runs at the hands of Surrey. However, they still sit top of the table and a reaction is expected at the Uptonsteel County Ground. Wicketkeeper James Bracey is set to make his Test debut for England, which rules him out of this one. Despite that however, Gloucestershire still boasts a strong side and already have one win to their name against their opponents here earlier in the season. With that in mind, the South West based county have to be favoured to bounce back from their Surrey loss by securing a win in this one.
