THE PREDICTION

Victory over Nottinghamshire made it two wins and a draw for Hampshire across their three Division One games so far and a third successive triumph here against Lancashire will likely be enough for them to lift the County Championship, provided Warwickshire don’t win and accrue significantly more bonus points in the meantime. Lancashire however, know that a win and healthy collection of bonus points will give themselves an excellent chance of the title as they look to back up their win over Somerset at Taunton last time out.

Intriguingly, this match will set place at the picturesque Aigburth, an outground used by Lancashire over many years. This does provide a sense of unknown in terms of how the wicket will play. Normally, outgrounds would be considered good for batting, but with the hosts needing victory a result pitch will surely be prepared. Whilst a close contest is expected here, Lancashire batting unit as a whole appears to be strong than Hampshire’s and that could provide the difference with both sides fantastic with the ball. Therefore, consider backing Lancashire via the draw no bet market.
