THE PREDICTION
Kent’s County Championship batting line-up continued to struggle badly last week as they were ripped apart singlehandedly by Jimmy Anderson at Emirates Old Trafford. When considering their excellent T20 Blast form in comparison, the likelihood is that Kent will be happy to just see this match out, although failure to win would mean the humiliation of not winning a single one of their Group 3 games. Sussex meanwhile, at least have the development of some promising young players to hang onto despite having not challenged for those top two spots. They have shown signs that the future could be bright for the county in red ball cricket in years to come. Regarding this match, those Sussex youngsters won’t have a better chance to record a win vs an opposition batting line-up so incredibly frail at present and now without England’s Zak Crawley following his late callup into the limited overs squad.
