It has been a nightmare of a tournament so far for Southern Punjab, having lost all four of their matches played, the only team to do so. Things don’t look like improving for them here against a strong Central Punjab side who secured their second victory of the competition last time out after beating Sindh by 12 runs via the DLS method. The experienced Shoaib Malik played a crucial role with the bat scoring 85 not out in Central Punjab’s innings and its players such as him, Ahmed Shehzad and of course captain Babar Azam that help form the spine of this top order. These three are expected to find themselves in the runs against a weak Southern Punjab bowling attack and with both Hasan Ali and Wahab Riaz provided pace and guile with the bowl, Sohaib Maqsood’s men look set for further disappointed here, with Central Punjab emerging triumphant.
