THE PREDICTION
Perth Scorchers were desperate to lay down a marker for the competition by overcoming defending champions Brisbane Heat in their opening game but they fell way short of where they needed to be to come out on top. They were beaten by seven wickets as they were dominated with both bat and ball and they will need to make big improvements here. However, Hobart Hurricanes need to improve even further after they were hammered by Adelaide Strikers in an eight-wicket demolition. The Hurricanes were bowled out for just 84 in the one-sided loss and with the Scorchers at least showing more with the bat, it is the Perth side that can claim the win here.
