Melbourne Stars put their frustrations behind them in the best way possible as they were finally able to complete a game in WBBL|06 and they made a statement with a hugely impressive win over Hobart Hurricanes. They dominated from start to finish as England pair Katherine Brunt and Natalie Sciver ripped through the order and they were ably supported by 17-year-old Tess Flintoff who took two wickets. They restricted the Hurricanes to just 89/9 and they made light work of chasing that down with Elyse Villani striking a brilliant unbeaten 51 from just 32 balls to complete the eight-wicket win. They now take on Adelaide Strikers who come into this on the back of a no result against Perth Scorchers with the weather putting paid to that match seeing a finish. That is far from ideal preparation following the big win for the Stars and it is the Melbourne outfit that should be able to build on their superb performance last time out.
