THE PREDICTION
This match looks like something of a mismatch on paper as Queensland have won both of their matches so far and Victoria have lost their two, but this figures to be a much closer game than their records suggest. After going with a fairly youthful looking team last time out and subsequently losing comfortably to Tasmania, Victoria bring back some experienced campaigners to bolster their squad with Scott Boland, Marcus Harris, Jon Holland, James Pattinson and Will Sutherland all returning. They will need contributions from them all to support skipper Peter Handscombe who has been their standout performer with nobody else overly producing the goods. The hosts not only have the edge in form so far in the Marsh Cup, but they have greater quality in their ranks. Their batting looks strong with Khawaja, Peirson, Burns and Labuschagne, while the bowling attack led by Stanlake and Neser is dangerous. They should have enough to pick up a third consecutive win and compound Victoria’s miseries.
