- · It has been a mixed start for Gemcon Khulna who won their opening game against Fortune Barisal by four wickets but their lost their second game against Minister Group Rajshahi by six wickets so they will be keen to bounce back here.
- · The batting has been their biggest disappointment so far despite possessing some big names and Imrul Kayes has struggled badly facing just five balls for two ducks which is causing them issues at the top of the order.
- · They rotated two local bowlers as Hasan Mahmud and Rishad Hossain have played a game apiece so far but it is hard to see any other changes as they look to their star men like Imrul Kayes, Shakib Al Hasan and Mahmudullah to find some form.
GAZI GROUP CHATTOGRAM
- · Tournament favourites Gazi Group Chattogram lived up to expectations in their opening game as they duly hammered Beximco Dhaka with nine wickets and more than nine overs to spare after they bowled their opponents out for a paltry 88.
- · The bowling attack was in spectacular form as all six bowlers took wickets and were incredibly economical as they put the pressure on their opponents right from the start which they will look to replicate here against a out-of-form Khulna batting line-up.
- · It is highly unlikely we will see any changes to the line-up barring any unforeseen injuries given how well they played in that opening match so expect to see the same eleven face Khulna.
THE PREDICTION
Chattogram produced comfortably the best performance of the tournament so far in their opening game as they destroyed Beximco Dhaka last time out. They have one of the stronger teams in the tournament on paper but they have hit form right at the start of this tournament which is ominous. They face a Khulna side that possesses plenty of quality themselves and much was expected of them. Their two performances have been way below the standards they would expect however as the key men have yet to hit their stride. The likes of Imrul Kayes, Shakib and Mahmudullah simply have to raise their game significantly or they risk being blown away by this formidable Chattogram side who have to be favoured here.
