Corentin Moutet vs Tommy Paul prediction
Corentin Moutet comes into this one on the back of a 6-2, 6-4, 6-1 defeat to world number one and eventual Australian Open winner Carlos Alcaraz in the first round of the first Grand Slam of the year at the Rod Laver Arena last month. Moutet had finished his year fairly poorly, too, with a defeat to Aleksandar Vukic at the Moselle Open.
He now faces Tommy Paul who has somewhat drifted from his peak across 2023 and 2024. The world number 22 has fallen 14 spots in around six months in the rankings, with poor Grand Slam showings, albeit he was performing well in Melbourne before he too suffered a straight sets to defeat to Carlos Alcaraz.
Neither of these two are in their best form at the moment but Tommy Paul would still surely be the likelier winner in a match that may well take some time to be decided.
