Coco Gauff vs Veronika Kudermetova prediction

Despite serving a staggering 23 double faults in her opening match, Coco Gauff managed to edge past Danielle Collins 7-5 4-6 7-6 to make it through to the third round and avoid elimination.

She was a long way from her best but she was understandably rusty in her first action since Wimbledon which saw her suffer a shock loss in the first round there.

This has never been a tournament where she has shone and it may well be that a steady run without going too far will suffice in her preparations for the US Open. That said, she will want a few wins under her belt at least.

She takes on Veronika Kudermetova who comes off an excellent 6-4 6-2 win over 29th-seed Olga Danilovic. Impressively, she did not concede a single break point and that will give her good confidence when taking on the top seed here.

It is reasonable to expect an improved Gauff here and that opening match should serve as a wake-up call to her. We think she comes out of the block fast in this one and gets the win in this one.

They have met three times before and all three matches have been competitive, which just deters us from going for the value on straight sets, but add Gauff to the bet builder here.
