Coco Gauff vs Mayar Sherif prediction
Two-time Grand Slam winner Coco Gauff is back to try and defend her French Open title, which she won by defeating Aryna Sabalenka in the final last year. Gauff put in an excellent performance in the first round as the hammered compatriot Taylor Townsend 6-4, 6-0 the other day.
Egyptian qualifier Mayar Sherif enjoyed three victories in qualification for the French Open before then putting in a good display to defeat Dalma Galfi 7-5, 6-4 in the opening round. Sherif hadn’t won back-to-back games since reaching the semi-finals of the WTA Challenger in Dubrovnik back in March.
Mayar Sherif has found some form more or less out of nowhere but this is now a massive step up and a comfortable Gauff win is to be expected.
