Coco Gauff vs Liudmila Samsonova prediction
Coco Gauff was on course for a third WTA 1000 final of the season as she took the first set against Elena Rybakina in their semi-final match at the Canadian Open. However, the world number two fought back to beat Gauff 5-7 6-2 6-2. That will have been a disappointment for the American, but she is still performing at an encouraging level. She will hope to win her first title of the campaign in Cincinnati.
Gauff received a bye in the first-round and now faces Liudmila Samsonova. The Russian came through a tight match with Yulia Putintseva in the first-round. She broke in the 12th game of the decider to clinch a 7-6 (5) 5-7 7-5 win after three hours and nine minutes.
Gauff leads the overall head-to-head 4-0. They faced each other earlier this year in Stuttgart, with the two-time Grand Slam singles champion winning 7-5 6-1. She will be an overwhelming favourite once again here.
